The story behind the name

A mantle. A calling.
A story of leadership.

The name comes from Elijah and Elisha — a picture of a calling received, character formed, and leadership passed on.

01 / The calling

Faithful in the ordinary.

1 Kings 19:19–21

Elijah found Elisha plowing a field and placed his mantle on him. No stage. No title. Just a man faithful where he was planted — proof that God calls leaders out of ordinary work, long before they feel ready.

02 / The preparation

Learning to lead by serving.

2 Kings 3:11

Before Elisha ever led, he served — Scripture remembers him as the one who poured water on Elijah’s hands. Leadership is formed in the unseen places: humble, faithful, willing to learn.

03 / The passing

Carrying it forward.

2 Kings 2:1–14

When Elijah was taken up, his mantle fell — and Elisha picked it up. The greatest work of a leader is preparing someone else to carry the calling after them. The power was never in the cloak; it came from God.

“The mantle is not just something we carry.
It’s a calling we’re entrusted to walk in.”
